has a smell at firstAugust 20, 2010 SlowcarFast(Los Angeles, CA) It's a nice mat. While the mat itself is think, long, comfortable and has a nice grip, it has a slight smell - not bad, but present. It did go away after a day or so. Also, unlike some of the mats that has just 1 layer, it looks like it was made with 2 mats glued together (although it seems to be nice quality). Other than that, I do like there's a light center line mark on the mat - it helped me, a yoga beginner on correcting my posture during certain poses.
Wish this mat were just a bit longer!August 19, 2010 politicalgardener(Maine, USA) I've been using this mat for three months and I really enjoy it. The thickness is just perfect for me, and I haven't had any troubles with slipping (though I don't practice styles that cause profuse sweating, either). The subtle dividing line down the center is very helpful for alignment. My one problem is that I have to often rearrange myself on the mat with lunges, planks, and similar positions. I'm 5'6" and wish this mat were longer. But otherwise, I am very happy with it. The price was right, too, and I was specifically looking for a latex-free mat, which this one is.

Had my first yoga session last night and this mat was perfect. I'm tall, and why laying down, I was on the mat head to toe. It was comfortable and I hope that I'll be using this mat for a long time.
Quality in a yoga mat!July 14, 2010 Steven P. Espinoza(Sonora, California United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful

I have had inexpensive yoga mats for ten years and they all served their purpose well. My last mat was worn, so I wanted to purchase a quality mat: eco friendly, thick yet lightweight, and a mat that wouldn't empty my wallet. I read all the comments for the eco friendly mats both moderately priced and expensive. Agile's mat was almost perfect for my needs at this time in my yoga practice. By the end of my second session on my gray, Agile Eco Yoga Mat, I was most impressed and happy with my choice. First, the mat is sticky so I have no problem with my grip in standing postures. Second, there is no smell to contend with and that is very important with a new mat. Third, yes, it is lightweight, which is a convenience. Additionally, the gray color is very appealing, the center line is beneficial in lining up my heals on the mat, and most important, it provides excellent support beneath my ankles, knees, and wrists. Last, the price is superb. I was able to contain my ego and shop with a reasonable mind; for originally, I had my eyes on a mat three times the price. Now, I am not tall (5-foot-8 thanks to yoga), but if Agile would only make this mat 72 inches, I would consider this mat perfect. In fact, the mat is so nice that a fellow yogi purchased one of her own after checking out my mat. Namaste.
Maybe I got a lemon?July 10, 2010 Jennifer T(Nashville) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
After reading all the other great reviews, I decided to order this mat, but my experience has not been great. I do like that it's eco-friendly, but I find that the material tends to curl up in really awkward ways and hold onto crimps, which is frustrating when you're trying to do yoga. (Maybe this is because the mat was left in my car in the heat, I'm not sure, but I've not had another mat do this. I had it rolled up in front of my front seat and one part accidentally got smushed in the car door. It curled up and stayed that way through a 90-minute yoga class this morning. Even when not caught in anything, it looks lumpy when it's rolled out.) It's also slippery - I don't sweat more than the average person and don't do hot yoga, but I slide all over this mat. Even worse, it makes squeaky noises when it gets sweat on it - awkward in a yoga class.
Positives: The padding is good and I like the alignment line. It's a shorter mat for sure - I'm 5'6" and I wouldn't go any shorter than this, but for me the length was fine.
